The experts from the Apple Systems Engineering team put on a session to share their knowledge of what’s new in macOS Big Sur! Big Sur introduces the biggest design update to the operating system since MacOS X! For the first time ever, macOS has been designed purely for Apple’s silicon Mac devices that feature Apple’s M1 chip. This has allowed for new capabilities and improvements in deployment management, identity and security, and enables powerful updates to key apps like Safari, Messages, and Maps. This event was for designed for all IT professionals, no matter what their experience levels of Mac deployment and administration were! The session included a presentation, demo, and group QA, making sure no one was left with unanswered questions, and providing attendees with the insight needed to maximise the potential of macOS Big Sur for their organisation.

This free event was put on for attendees to develop their knowledge, sharpen their thinking, meet the new challenges head on, and ensure their business is a great success. The change in proceedings due to the pandemic didn’t change the success of the event, and the Festival of Startups delivered real value to entrepreneurs. The festival was a fully standalone ten day event, and focused on the massive spike in new companies being formed in the last 6 months against the backdrop of Covid. It provided those in attendance the chance to listen to a range of experts in all the key areas of kick-starting a business. The world has changed, and so should the thinking of entrepreneurs.

We kicked things off with a special Apple keynote, which was then followed by an inspirational case-study from Hugo Tilmouth, Co-Founder of ChargedUp. Marian Gadzik, Director and Investor of Startup Grind, was in attendance to share his knowledge of the unique challenges start-up businesses have faced during these difficult times. HardSoft’s very own Co-Founder Phil Morgan, and Business Development and Partnerships Director Sophie Morgan provided insights in to the importance of HardSoft’s ability to pivot.
