The carbon offset projects you are contributing to

How your 3% makes all the difference

Your 3% offset contribution is invested into providing clean energy production in Northeast Brazil through the construction of wind power plants. This project has many benefits for the environment, as well as social and economic benefits which will last for generation.

Carbon offsetting and you

HardSoft’s CO2 offset service works with a range of projects which benefit the environment and local communities around the world.

By offsetting the carbon produced by the machines you lease with us, you’ll be contributing to real change through projects vetted by the United Nations.

Contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Providing clean energy in Brazil has several co-benefits which go towards achieving the UN’s SDGs for the area. These include:

Brazil Good Heath Icon

Good Health and Well-Being

Access to educational support on health topics is provided, donation of ambulances to municipalities.

Brazil Education Icon

Quality Education

Training and further education of teachers, construction of a new school including infrastructure, improvement of the quality of community education.

Brazil Clean Water Icon

Clean Water and Sanitation

Drilling and rehabilitation of wells, construction of pipelines, awareness campaigns on water use.

Brazil Sustainable Cities Icon

Sustainable Cities and Communities

The project additionally generates income for landowners and thereby increases and diversifies land productivity and stimulates the regional economy.

Brazil Climate Action Icon

Climate Action

The project saves an average of 650,000 tons of CO2 per year.

Brazil Partnership Icon

Partnerships for the Goals

Development of social capital by engaging community members and developing a relationship with the project.

Wind turbines in Brazil

Clean wind energy for Brazilian communities.

Fourteen wind power plants provide clean and renewable electricity to the states of Piaui and Pernambuco, in northeast Brazil.

This is an important contribution to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon dioxide emissions that otherwise would have occurred through fossil fuel-based electricity generation.

The use of collective construction helps transform local communities and increases a sense of shared value which will last for many generations to come.

The project’s focus.

There are many socioeconomic and environmental co-benefits of this project which are listed above and show that carbon-offset projects can have far-reaching impacts beyond just a single cause. This project focuses on the needs of the local communities and is helping to deliver new realities for those living in the area, which will generate shared value for all.

How wind energy helps fight global warming

Wind energy is created without burning fossil fuels and is therefore considered emission-free. Renewable energy sources such as this are essential to limiting global warming and securing energy supplies for the future.

The amount of emissions saved by a wind power project is calculated by working out how much CO2 would be released by generating the same amount of energy using standard energy production methods for the region.

Wind turbines in Brazil

Clean wind energy with various social benefits for Brazilian communities.

This carbon offset project comprises the implantation and operation of 14 wind power plants in the states of Piauí and Pernambuco in the northeast of Brazil. The clean and renewable electricity delivered to Brazilian Interconnected System by the project provides an important contribution to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon dioxide emissions that otherwise would have occurred in the absence of the project, through fossil fuel-based electricity generation.
