SOLIDWORKS is here with SOLIDPLANS by HardSoft!

SOLIDWORKS products have just launched on our website, with a dedicated HardSoft SOLIDWORKS website launching soon. We are one of only a handful of authorised companies offering SOLIDWORKS CAD packages and the first to be approved in the last 8 years, but we’re doing it with a difference.

SOLIDPLANS by HardSoft supply Perpetual Licensing (where you own the product) on a monthly subscription payment. This means you can have SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD on a true 0% finance offer over 2 years, at the same upfront cost of a license, or take the product on a 3-year lease package. All installed and supported by fully SOLIDWORKS Certified technicians.

While we wait for the full website launch, let’s find out what’s going to be new with SOLIDWORKS in 2020.

Large Assembly Drawings for Working Faster

Detailed Mode
Open drawings in seconds and continue to add and edit annotations.
Graphics Acceleration for Drawings
Hardware-accelerated rendering allows you to improve frame rates whilst panning and zooming in drawings.

Faster Assembly Design

Envelope Publisher
Include components from a top-level assembly as envelopes in a subassembly.
Large Design Review
Create and edit linear and circular component patterns, edit pattern-driven and sketch-driven component patterns, as well as create mates to the reference geometry of components.

Flexible Components

Make Part Flexible
Display the same part in different conditions within the same assembly. E.g. a spring can be shown compressed and at full-length in the same assembly.

Faster Sketching

Silhouette Entities
Create multiple sketch entities by projecting the outline of component bodies onto a parallel sketch plane.
Torsion Continuity Relation
Achieve G3 curvature between sketched curves, giving a seamless transition.

Faster Calculations and Improved Accuracy for Simulation

Speed and Accuracy
Speed up analysis and improve accuracy by combining linear and quadratic elements in the same simulation study.
Beam Models
Import temperatures to perform a stress analysis after running a thermal analysis on a model with beams.
Pin and Bolt Connectors
Deform faces attached to Pin and Bolt connectors.

Improved Design Experience

3D Printing
Access an extensive list of commercially available 3D printer volumes and create slices for 3D printing directly from SOLIDWORKS geometry.

Expanded Interoperability with 3D Interconnect

New File Types
Work with BREP data from DXF™/DWG files and IFC files.
Drag and Drop into SOLIDWORKS
Drag a non-native SOLIDWORKS file into an active part or assembly.

More Flexibility for Surfacing

Specify more types of surface direction vectors (other than normal) to a face.
Offset Surface
Identify faces on a surface that cannot be offset, and create an offset surface without them.

Improvements to SOLIDWORKS Visualise

PDM Integration
Manage your files more easily with SOLIDWORKS PDM integration.
XR Exporter
Easily convert your Visualise files to AR/VR experiences.

Connected Design-to-Manufacturing Ecosystem in the Cloud

Data Sharing and Collaboration
Share models back and forth between SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE tools. Collaborate in real-time from anywhere and on any device.
Direct Connection
Easily connect SOLIDWORKS 2020 with key tools through the cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
Extended Workflows
Easily extend your design ecosystem with new capabilities such as subdivisional modelling, conceptual design, and product lifecycle and project management in the cloud.

We will be launching our dedicated website very soon, in the meantime if you’d like to find out more about our SOLIDWORKS offering get in touch with our team on 020 7111 1643, email solidworks@hardsoft.co.uk or visit the SOLIDWORKS section on our website.
