… has arrived!  The new Mac OS has been released by Apple and is shipping on all new Macs from HardSoft ! Possibly not as exciting for the Olympics but Macs with Mountain lion now available to leaseit’s not far off. How much is it ? ; What are the benefits ?  Are you are  entitled to an Upgrade ?

What is the Cost?  As they do with all new Operating system, Apple have released Mountain Lion for download within the App Store. The Cost of the download is £13.99. 

How to install OS X Mountain Lion from the App Store . Firstly need to check your Mac is compatible. The following Macs are capable of running Mountain Lion-

  • iMac (mid 2007 or newer).
  • MacBook (late 2008 aluminum model or early 2009 or newer).
  • MacBook Pro (mid/late 2007 or newer).
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer).
  • Mac Mini (early 2009 or newer).
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer).
  • Xserve (early 2009).

Your Mac will need to be up to date with version 10.6.8 or later before Mountain Lion can be installed. Next Step once all the above have been checked make sure that you back up your data just in case something goes wrong with the install. Once your data is backed up, download Mountain Lion from the App Store and follow the on screen instructions.

Am i eligible for an Upgrade…for Free? If you leased your Apple Mac from Apple or Hardsoft on or after June 11th 2012 then you are eligible for a FREE upgrade to Mountain Lion. The process is different to that of above and the product is not available on the App Store.Follow the link below and it will allow you to request a download copy of Mountain Lion.
