Apple announced a new Mac Pro at WWDC 2019 and it’s just what creatives and professionals have been waiting for.

With its stainless steel frame and tower chassis, it’s a nostalgic nod to the older Mac Pro models but has modern styling with vent holes on the front and back. Designed to be modular, the new Mac Pro’s aluminium housing can be removed simply for full access to almost every component and has multiple Thunderbolt ports on top, as well as a new cooling system which maximises airflow but is super quiet.

The base model has a new 8-core Intel Xeon processor with a turbo boost of 4.0GHz and 32GB of ECC RAM which is perfect for multi-tasking and can be configured up to a vast 28 cores for the ultimate multi-tasking requirements. This new Mac Pro is certainly not for the humdrum workload of every day.

Featuring AMD graphics cards, the base starts with the Radeon Pro 580X and you can move up to the Radeon Pro Vega II, which as 32GB of high bandwidth memory. If that’s still not enough, you can upgrade to the AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo – two Vega II GPUs with a total 64GB of memory!

You will be able to upgrade it with up to 4TB drive though, and of course, most creative professionals have their own powerful external SSD drives anyway, so it isn’t a huge issue. The RAM will be upgradeable too, with 12 physical DIMM slots allowing you to upgrade your memory as and when you need to.

Apple also released a new monitor, the Pro Display XDR, which is designed to complement the new Mac Pro. It features the world’s first 32-inch 6K Retina display and a nano-textured surface to minimise reflections.

Apple is using a unique lattice cooling pattern on the back of the display so that they can deliver unprecedented HDR, maintaining a constant 1K nits of brightness and 1.6K nits of peak brightness. Images will be stunning with 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. All this combines to deliver Apple’s new technology they’re calling Extreme Dynamic Range (XDR) the next level of HDR.

With high-end specs come high-ticket pricing and both the Mac Pro and display are expected to be no exception. That’s why leasing makes sense, allowing you to spread the cost whilst still accessing the latest high-end tech. With a HardSoft Flexi-Lease there is no deposit and you receive 3-years warranty, including free accidental damage cover on all Macs. You can even change your equipment after two years and refresh your tech once again!

Apple has said that the new Mac Pro will be available from the Autumn, to get updates on delivery, pricing and specs as they become available on the new 2019 Mac Pro, register your interest and we’ll keep you informed.
