With Apple consistently releasing new and ever-changing technology, advanced security via iOS is a number one priority in ensuring all user data is protected.

Apple is able to distinguish personal use from corporate and can safeguard users in ways that were never possible before. Apple products are vital to its consumers, keeping them constantly connected to their work and personal lives.

The iOS system security is constructed to protect the device’s software and hardware systems, even when it is just being switched on. The continuous routine of iOS updates is used to prevent any emerging threats from attacking the system. With Apple’s variety of safeguarding features ranging from password protections to face and fingerprint ID, it has now become harder than ever for an intruder to gain access to your data, allowing only the authorised user access to the device.

All personal and corporate data are automatically encrypted and combined with the other set of built-in device features, meaning your data can now be protected when being transferred elsewhere. When downloading an app to your device Apple have prevents any malware, or other malicious content, from being able to compromise the device, this has reduced the need for Apple customers to pay any further protection via a third party.

Apple uses a variety of advanced technologies to consistently prevent any device and data threats, some of which are known as sandboxing, code signing, runtime protection and entitlements. The different technologies work together to regularly monitor, update and encrypt the relevant software, identifying and acting upon any security concerns immediately.

iOS is widely known to give employees the power to work the way they wish and with a carefully designed personalised set up it gives each employee the ability to adapt the device to their needs, creating a more productive and efficient workplace.

Apple has also addressed the importance of keeping personal and corporate data separate with their Mobile Device Management Tool, with the number of safeguards installed into the apps, internet and the device itself, data will remain private keeping security at an all-time high, allowing the combination of different uses to come together as a whole. This is due to the efficient connectivity required to manage the large volume of data and commands received from the device.

Deploying Apple products within a workplace, like all change, can seem overwhelming. To overcome this Apple have introduced their own online-based Business Manager platform, to allow IT administrators the opportunity to automatically enrol the device onto the new programme, set up content and designate administrative privileges.

With data protection, a key issue in today’s society the security features within iOS are vitally important to a number of industries. In the financial services sector, secure transactions are key, and with the client’s data completely protected by Apple, there is no worry. Within the hospitality industry the iOS apps can help provide an immersive guest experience, whilst still protecting guest data, whereas within the public sector the need for paperless documentation is becoming much more important, and with Apple’s reliable and protective features, vital information can be accessed securely. Technicians such as plumbers, gas engineers and electricians have begun using iPhones and iPads to track and schedule jobs along with other customer requirements, secure access to the device means all the data is protected, enabling paperless documentation.

Many government institutions use Apple due to its highly effective safeguarding methods, this is a game-changer for Apple, as now their technology is being relied on by government institutions and because of this, its job has now become ever more complex, however, the general public will be reassured to know their data is being protected at a government level. With new GDPR rules in force, it has now been more important than ever to uphold and protect client confidentiality.

Each Apple product has been specifically created to uphold privacy in any way possible, and is seen as a human right within the firm. This attitude is the key reason as to why Apple products have excelled just by listing security as their main priority.
